AUTOBIOGRAPHY

My name is Brendan Paulsen. I'm the webmaster and I consider myself a die hard fan of Petro's.

As many of you may have noticed, I'm an avid fan of the Idols format and have since been on the look out for new, original talent.  So, when it came to the second season of the phenomenal talent contest, Petro was the only contestant out of the converted Top 12 who caught my attention, due to her powerful voice and incredible beauty.  I believed Petro had the talent and ability to become this country's next Idol.  It is, however, unfortunate that Petro did not win Idols, due to strong competition.  I was extremely disappointed when Petro got voted off Idols, especially at such an early stage of the competition. It was then, that I decided to open this fan site, in appreciation of  Petro's talent. I, for one, was not prepared to allow such rare talent to go to waste. As far as I'm concerned,  Petro deserves international recognition.

My dream of meeting Petro in person, came true on the 16th of December 2003.  I was fortunate enough to attend the Idols Concert in aid of the Unite Against Hunger campaign.  Even though the venue was in Cape Town, we drove all the way from Port Elizabeth, so that I could have the privilege of watching my Idol perform live, as part of my 18th birthday present.  Before my trip, I had a T-shirt made especially for the show, hoping that Petro would be able to notice what big fan I was and still am.  I even had a huge banner saying "Petro, I Like You Madly!". 

I was extremely excited when we finally arrived at the venue.  I thoroughly enjoyed each contestant's performance, but it was Petro's performances that stood out for me, obviously because she was my favourite.  After the concert, I some how managed to get  VIP access backstage, but there was no sign of Petro!  I waited patiently, praying that it was not too late, since I was worried that Petro might have already left the venue.  Then, out of the blue Petro appeared at the door.  However, she did not notice me, until I called her over. She smiled and gave me a hug. At that moment I was on cloud nine! I asked her whether she would be as kind as to sign the Idols CD inlay for me, and she was generous enough to do so.  I had my picture taken with her and since it was quite dark outside, I stepped into the light and showed Petro my T-Shirt, which had a picture of her printed on it.  She seemed very much impressed.  That night, was the best night of my life.  Feel free to look through my Photo Album.

Today, I believe I am Petro's biggest fan and I will continue to support her and her band in future.  I, along with several other fans await her debut solo album.
